This blowgun is from the Socoya tribe. The
Socoya pucuna has a wooden spindle-shaped mouthpiece. The Socoyas live
along the Puntumayo River which is the frontier between Peru and Colombia.
This Socoya pucunas (blowgun) is somewhat rare because of the difficulty in
securing them from the tribal lands and because of the general direction of the
river flows and political situations in the area. We hope to obtain one a
year.
