.40 CAL BLOWGUNS

.40 caliber blowguns and accessories are the most popular
blowguns as they have been around for the longest. Manufacturers make the
most product for this line so you will find a lot of products here.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE SIZES:
- .40 caliber blowguns are 3/8".
- .50 caliber blowguns are 1/2".
- .62 caliber blowguns are 5/8".
- Measurements are taken by measuring from the
inside wall of the blowgun. Darts are not interchangeable. You
can only chose the darts and accessories for the blowgun you have
chosen.
The two most popular styles of the .40 caliber blowguns
are the bombers and fighters. The differences between those blowguns are
basically what comes on the blowgun.
- BOMBERS: blowgun, standard mouthpiece, one Q-8
quiver, one Q-16 quiver, four Q-10 quivers, one 4" grip, two dart
guards, one muzzle guard, one black sling, twelve target darts,
ten broadhead darts, ten spearhead darts, and eight stun darts.
- FIGHTERS: Each one-piece fighter style blowgun
comes with a standard mouthpiece, one Q-8 quiver, 8 stun darts, 12 target
darts, one Q-16 quiver, one dart guard, one 4" grip, one muzzle guard.
LENGTH ACCURACY AND VELOCITY DIFFERENCES: In
posting the following information, use the references for the .50 caliber and
.62 caliber as well. However, the manufacturers claim that by using the
.50 caliber and .62 caliber blowguns you can achieve about 25% for velocity and
distance.
- 24" - accuracy range 50 feet, 150 feet
per second
- 27" - accuracy range 75 feet, 175 feet
per second
- 36" - accuracy range 100 feet, 200 feet
per second
- 48" - accuracy range 150 feet, 250 feet
per second
- By adding a 24" extension to any of these
lengths listed above, you can increase your accuracy and distance by another
50 feet.
